![]() It's a sad truth, that our beautiful blue planet is in a sorry state which is worsening faster and faster. The living beings which inhabit her (including man) and who share in her limited resources are also threatened, some sooner than others! Perhaps you think these concerns are overstated, not as bad as some would say and will only occur in the distant future? Unfortunately, that isn't the case, in fact, the wheels are already turning and are going to accelerate. For those with doubts, read the book Mal de Terre, from the credible and respected Hubert Reeves, you are likely to be shocked by the state of our planet's health and especially by the speed at which it's worsening. So what can be done to help our poor planet and those that inhabit it? We must be informed, understand and ACT TOGETHER ! Money, the short term profit and power it brings, are too often the only parameters considered in decision making. It has to become economically and politically profitable to protect nature! It is up to us, eco-friendly citizens, to act, elect, denounce, or consume, in a way which will preserve the integrity of Mother Earth! There's no time to lose!!! Do you think that only endangered species are at risk? Don't deceive yourself! Even the symbols of power on our planet, Such as the elephant, polar bear and blue whale are under threat of disappearing in the short term because of the more harmful species on Earth: Man! Even man, on his pedestal, could be added to this sorry list. if we continue to remain disillusioned spectators in front of all this nonsense! For example, to think that we live in a society that allows companies to destroy a mountain simply for the short term profit! A mountain, it cannot push right back. only over millions of years. |
